FOUR ABA-ACCREDITED LAW SCHOOLS MAKE RESPECTIVE STUDENTS MEMBERS OF ORANGE COUNTY BAR
NEWPORT BEACH, CA, December 31, 2013 — The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) has partnered with the four ABA-accredited law schools in Orange County to have all of their respective students become student members of the OCBA, adding approximately 2000 members to one of the largest voluntary bar associations in the United States.
Participating Law Schools:
- Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, Thomas J. Campbell, Dean and Donald P. Kennedy Chair in Law
- University of California, Irvine School of Law, Erwin Chemerinsky, Founding Dean and Distinguished Professor of Law
- Western State College of Law at Argosy University, William E. Adams, Jr., Dean and President
- Whittier Law School, Penelope E. Bryan, Dean and Vice President, Professor of Law
“I greatly appreciate the deans of Orange County’s ABA-accredited law schools for participating in an exciting partnership with the OCBA, which will provide tremendous benefits for years to come to the entire Orange County legal community,” Wayne Gross explained. “Law students need to find ways to give themselves a competitive edge to find good jobs, and employers need access to good students. Through this partnership, law students will have significantly more networking opportunities to meet experienced members of the OCBA to discuss areas of law practice to pursue. Additionally, the Bar welcomes the many faculty members who, prior to this partnership, had not actively participated in bar activities. They, like their law students, constitute an extremely important part of the Bar and their participation in Bar events will significantly enhance the benefits to all involved.”
