MISSION STATEMENT
As the charitable giving and fundraising arm of the Orange County Bar Association, the OCBA Charitable Fund provides resources to organizations and programs in order to enhance the system of justice and promote equal justice for all.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 1995, the Charitable Fund is the philanthropic arm of the Orange County Bar Association, overseeing and administering all charitable giving for the OCBA. The Charitable Fund is dedicated to bettering the Orange County community and legal profession by facilitating access to justice.
This goal is achieved by making monetary contributions to carefully selected Orange County law-related organizations such as the Public Law Center, VIP Mentors Inc., the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County and other worthy community service organizations.
GRANTS
OCBA Charitable Fund grants are awarded on an annual basis. The grant cycle for 2009 grants is now open. Deadline for grant submissions is Friday, December 4, 2009. Please submit to OCBA Charitable Fund, Post Office Box 6130, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
OCBA members are given the opportunity to contribute to the OCBA Charitable Fund on their 2009 membership dues statement by checking off a box for a voluntary contribution. Please consider making a donation to the OCBA Charitable Fund when renewing or joining the OCBA in 2009. Big or small, every member donation makes a positive difference.
Please also consider making a contribution to the OCBA Charitable Fund by December 31st for your 2009 tax-deductible donation. This end-of-the-year charitable contribution helps you and those who receive assistance from the OCBA Charitable Fund supported charities.
FUNDRAISING
In addition to direct support from OCBA members and law firms, the Charitable Fund also holds fundraisers.
