Find your group by the first letter of your last name*. The current group is Group 1 (A-G). The Group 1 MCLE compliance deadline is January 31, 2025.

*Attorneys are permanently assigned to a compliance group once. You always remain in that same group, even if you subsequently change your last name. 

More MCLE Information from the California State Bar:

  • Attorneys admitted on or before February 1, 1992 were assigned to a compliance group based on the first letter of their last name as listed on official State Bar records on Feb. 1, 1992 (the beginning of the MCLE program).
  • Attorneys admitted after February 1, 1992 were assigned to a compliance group based on the last name listed on their admit card, which they fill out when they are sworn in as a member of the Bar.
