Two OCBA Members Receive 2017 ADL Jurisprudence Award

The Anti-Defamation League for the Orange County/Long Beach region announced OCBA Board Member Andra Greene and OCBA Masters Division Board Member Gary Singer as two recipients of the 2017 Marcus Kaufman Jurisprudence Award. Named after Justice Marcus Kaufman, who was the 103rd Justice of the California Supreme Court and a champion of civil rights, this award is given to attorneys who have made significant contributions to their communities and to the legal profession and embody ADL’s mission to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all.

Greene, partner at Irell & Manella LLP, is a seasoned trial lawyer. Her practice covers a wide range of business litigation matters on the state and federal level. Greene currently sits on the board of the OCBA. She has been named as 2016 Top Women Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal, 2016 Top 50 Women Lawyers in the nation by the National Diversity Council, 2016 Orange County Bet-the-Company "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers, and 2014 Women Worth Watching by Diversity Journal. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Singer, Senior VP & General Counsel of RSI Holding LLC and Chair of the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing, is an experienced attorney in corporate, business and securities law, with a focus on public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance matters. Singer served as the former OCBA Corporate and Business Law Section Chair. He has lectured for the California Bar, UC Irvine MBA Program, Forum for Corporate Directors and the USC Corporate Governance Summit. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Marymount University.
