Santa Ana – The Court is pleased to announce the opening of the recruitment process for highly qualified attorneys to serve as temporary judges for the new term beginning the fiscal year of July 01, 2023, through June 30, 2026. If you are interested in becoming a temporary judge, please read the APPLICATION LETTER and complete the TEMPORARY JUDGE APPLICATION. The Application Letter describes the minimum qualifications and selection criteria which will be used in this application process.
If you are currently an active temporary judge with the Superior Court of California, County of Orange and wish to renew your status, please complete the TEMPORARY JUDGE RENEWAL APPLICATION. We thank you for your service and encourage you to reapply.
The Court will require those who were selected through the application process to attend two three-hour mandatory training sessions in the late spring/early summer 2023. Additionally, a three-hour training session for each of the subject matters for which the applicant was approved will be required. This required training qualifies for MCLE credit.
Applications must be received by December 30, 2022. Late applications will not be accepted.
