TMBA Seeking Applications for State Bar Exam Scholarship

Deadline to Apply: Friday, December 13, 2019 by 11:59 p.m. PST

The Thurgood Marshall Bar Association (TMBA), an affiliate bar of the OCBA, is committed to supporting individuals who take the State Bar Exam in hopes of practicing law in California. TMBA will award selected applicants (first-time and repeat bar takers) with a bar scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to assist with the costs associated with preparing for and taking the bar exam.

Application instructions:

(1) complete application

(2) submit a 350 to 750-word essay discussing your connection, if any, to Orange County, and what you will personally do to help expand diversity and inclusion in the legal profession after admission to the State Bar of California and for repeat bar takers, include a self-reflection on your approach to the previous time(s) you took the bar exam, your plan or approach in preparing to take the bar again, and the steps you will take to maintain or increase your level of motivation during your bar preparation period

(3) submit a resume or curriculum vitae. Letters of recommendation may be provided but are not required.
