Community Outreach Committee

The Community Outreach Committee’s purpose is to facilitate the provision of community services by the OCBA, its members and affiliates. The committee’s work helps to create a more positive image of the OCBA and the legal profession in the community.

The committee meets on a monthly basis on the first Wednesday of each month. The committee’s meetings alternate each month: one month is “face to face” in the OCBA offices at noon in Newport Beach, and then the next month is via teleconference at noon.

The Community Outreach Committee has a long track record of successful projects. These include: Annual Food Drives, Visits to Orangewood Children’s Home, Community Service Days, Used Eye Glass Collections, Toys for Tots, and Used Business Clothing Drive (LawSuits).

This committee is an excellent place for members who have an interest in community service. Committee members can participate in many ways by organizing a project, writing publicity for the project, and coordinating with the various community service organizations that benefit from the project. Committee members can also volunteer to participate in any of the projects. The undertakings are finite in time, making them an ideal way to start to get involved. Spending a Saturday morning on a visit to Orangewood or helping at the food bank provides an opportunity to get to know other OCBA members and to lend a helping hand.

The committee offers numerous occasions for OCBA members to become involved in organized and enjoyable community service activities. It is a valuable, rewarding experience for all.

Help Provide Relief to Ukrainian Refugees
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine, especially the many families emigrating amidst a brutal, unjustified war. This horrid atrocity deeply saddens the hearts of Orange County’s legal community. The OCBA encourages its members to consider visiting the sites below to see how you can help provide resources and relief to Ukranians in need:

World Central Kitchen - Feeding refugees on the Poland border.

United Way - United for Ukraine Fund - Providing immediate needs to refugee families (accommodations, food, medicine, child and infant supplies, etc.)

Global Empowerment Mission - Assisting refugees with plane or train tickets to get to family members in Europe.
