OCAABA Accepting Board of Director Applications - Deadline July 16

OCAABA members who are interested in running for a position on OCAABA's Board of Directors should send a short bio and candidate statement to the OCAABA office (contactus@ocaaba.org) no later than July 16, 2021. The bio and candidate statement should not exceed 500 words.

The candidate statement should contain the following information:

  • As a board member, I believe that I can bring the following strengths, skills and experience to OCAABA: _________.
  • The personal or professional goals that I hope to satisfy through my involvement with OCAABA are: _________.
  • What I enjoy most about OCAABA and the areas I see need for improvement with OCAABA are: __________.
  • A one sentence statement regarding your previous experience with OCAABA committees and events.

Previous involvement with OCAABA is highly encouraged for all candidates but not required.

Only attorneys who are admitted to the CA Bar are eligible to run.

Each board member elected must commit to serving a three-year term (typically April 2021-April 2024, but this year will have an August 2021 start due to adjustments made for COVID). Three positions will be available for the 2021-2024 term. Director duties include:

  • Attending monthly board meetings (typically the first or second Wednesday night of each month), the annual installation dinner; general membership meetings, other OCAABA programs/events, other community events on behalf of the organization; and
  • Serving as the lead chair of a committee, including planning events on behalf of the committee.
