OCBA Pro Bono Directory

Access to Prevention Advocacy Intervention & Treatment (A Division of Special Service for Groups)
Provides healthcare, immigration, and transgender services to medically underserved communities, including those living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS, mental health, and/or substance use challenges in Orange County.

California Lawyers for Arts
Provides legal services to creative artists, arts organizations, independent inventors, and those with creative arts legal matters.

CASA Orange County
Provides mentorship and dependency court advocacy for children in foster care that have been victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. During the COVID-19 period, CASA has still been receiving referrals from Juvenile Court and providing their services to minors, however, they are doing so mostly virtually as their volunteers are not able to visit the children. CASA continues to appreciate the support from OCBA and would is seeking volunteers for virtual pro bono assistance. CASA will provide on-line training to all volunteers.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County
Family Legal Assistance at CHOC Children’s Mission: To provide low-income families with free legal representation to increase their access to health care for critical medical conditions.

Community Counsel
Provides legal services for seniors, people with disabilities and their families.

Community Legal Aid SoCal
Provides civil legal services to seniors and low-income individuals and promoting equal access to the justice system through advocacy, legal counseling, innovative self-help services, in-depth legal representation, economic development, and community education.

Serves the most vulnerable homeless clients in Orange County in order to break the cycle of homelessness.

Public Law Center
The Public Law Center (PLC) is a non-profit legal services organization in Santa Ana, California that provides free civil legal services to low-income residents of Orange County, California in the areas of family, immigration, health, housing, veterans, microbusiness and consumer law. During the pandemic, PLC is in need of volunteer attorneys to assist its clients with the following legal issues: housing-related cases, whether landlord/tenant disputes or assistance with preserving homeownership, particularly for older adults; immigration law matters, allowing families to remain together in the United States; litigation in federal court, including a mandamus issue in an immigration matter, social security disability appeals, and a dispute with a federal agency; and transactional assistance for low-income entrepreneurs and local non-profits, including reviewing contracts, negotiating leases, and formation or dissolution. United Way - OC Free Tax Prep and VITA Program
Provides free tax preparation assistance to low- to moderate-income individuals.

Veterans Legal Institute
Provides pro bono legal assistance to homeless, at risk, disabled and low income current and former service members to eradicate barriers to housing, healthcare, education, and employment and foster self-sufficiency.
