The American Bar Association is accepting nominations for the 2017 ABA Pro Bono Publico Awards. 

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (February 17, 2017) – The Orange County Bar Association Charitable Fund awarded $179,600 in grants to 12 law-related organizations and programs in Orange County. The programs provide critically needed services to a broad range of clients including victims of domestic violence, legal services for low-income residents of Orange County and foster youth, diversity pipe-line efforts and assistance for homeless residents.

The California State Bar encouraged licensed attorneys in California "to provide pro bono support to help bridge the gap in access to justice. While upholding ethical standards for attorneys and regulating the legal profession is a core focus of the State Bar’s work, it’s equally critical to ensure that all of California’s residents have access to high-quality attorneys when the need arises."

On February 11, the OCBA helped new admittees of the California State Bar bridge the gap between law school and law practice with valuable tips and insight from experienced attorneys and judges.
