The Supreme Court of Texas entered an order to allow any attorney not licensed to practice in Texas, but licensed and in good standing in any other jurisdiction of the United States, to provide legal assistance to individuals and entities affected by Hurricane Harvey.

On August 24, 2017, the OCBA Charitable Fund held its 2017 Raise Your Glass Annual Benefit at the Newport Beach Country Club. 

This fall, all OCBA sections will conduct online elections for the open leadership position of Secretary/Treasurer.

The OCBA, alongside public interest organizations Family Violence Appellate Project, Legal Aid Society of Orange County, Public Law Center, and Veterans Legal Institute, submitted an amici curiae brief in district court in Santa Ana in opposition to a preliminary injunction motion brought by Courthouse News that sought to prevent the Court from continuing to screen to protect litigants’ statutory rights to privacy (including the identity of domestic violence survivors) before releasing these filings to the press and the public.

The OCBA 2018 continuing legal education travel seminar will be in Bangkok & Chiang Mai, Thailand from January 26, 2018 - February 4, 2018.

The United States District Court, Central District of California, is currently accepting applications from qualified attorneys interested in serving on the Central District’s Merit Selection Panel.
