Local Rules Updates for the New Year

The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, has adopted new and revised local rules. A majority of the judges approved the rules in October. (Code Civ. Proc., § 575.1.) The rules will be effective Jan. 1, 2023.

Rule 375 – Remote and In-Person Proceedings for Civil (Revised)
Rule 704 – Ex Parte Matters (Revised)
Rule 720 – Filing and Establishment of Parent-Child Relationship Pursuant to a Gestational Surrogacy (New)
Rule 721 – Appointment of Elisor (New)

The rules are attached and are also posted on the Court’s website at https://www.occourts.org/directory/local-rules/. A hard copy of the rules is available upon request. Additional instructions and procedures to appear remotely are available on the Court’s website.
