Elder Law and Social Security: What Every Representative Should Know

Every person has the right to be represented by an attorney or other representative while pursuing a claim or other rights under titles II, XVI, and XVIII of the Social Security Act. We value our relationship with the appointed representative community and look forward to presenting information and best practices for use when conducting business with the agency. The presentation will cover fundamentals of the retirement program, such as how to determine eligibility, how Social Security calculates the benefit amount, important laws and regulations that affect benefits, as well as key strategies on when best to start retirement benefits. In addition, what happens once a beneficiary pre-deceases their spouse and how are survivor benefits applied on the record.

Cancellations must be received in writing via fax or email three (3) business days prior to meeting date to receive a refund.
