Topic:

The California Supreme Court recently issued its much anticipated decision in the case of Yvanova v. New Century Mortgage Corporation holding that a borrower has standing to challenge an assignment of the note and deed of trust on the basis of defects allegedly rendering the assignment void.  Attorneys on both sides of the lawsuit along with industry and consumer lawyers will discuss the case, the arguments, and the likely impact of the California Supreme Court's decision on borrowers, lenders, servicers, and foreclosure trustees.
