Getting Your Insurance to Pay What It Owes - Recent War Stories (And Some Tips for Transactional Lawyers)
Steven Brower has been a California trial attorney for over 45 years, with a significant portion of his practice devoted to litigation of insurance coverage disputes, primarily for policyholders for the last 30 years. This presentation will combine war stories showing strategy from actual cases (Getting 100% of a $10 million excess policy plus 100% of attorney fees; Getting money instead of getting rescission; Getting insurers declaratory relief cases stayed until after the underlying case has been resolved) along with practical tips which are relevant for both litigators and transactional counsel. Mr. Brower's prior presentation to this section was highly rated as being both informative and an enjoyable format.
