Insuring Property Against Contamination: Present-Day Alternatives Since the 1986 Absolute Exclusion
This seminar will focus on current trends and best practices for environmental insurance, including strategic considerations in real estate transactions involving (potentially or actually) environmentally-impaired properties. The seminar will address key distinctions between environmental claims under commercial general liability policies issued before adoption of the “absolute pollution exclusion” versus present-day pollution legal liability products. The panelists will further discuss best practices when seeking to procure environmental insurance coverage, current market trends, and optimizing site-specific coverage via endorsements. Finally, the program will address considerations when responding to an environmental claim, and seeking to enforce coverage obligations under environmental policies.
This program is approved for 1.0 CLE Credit. Attendees must have participated in the program in its entirety to receive MCLE credit.
