Health Care Reimbursement 101: Medicare and Medi-Cal
For stakeholders and attorneys working with health care insurance plans, providers and patients, this panel will provide an overview of practices and trends in reimbursement, billing and collection under Medicare, Medi-Cal and other government health care programs. Specifically, the panel will cover: (a) overview of Medicare and Medicare Managed Care reimbursement, (b) overview of California’s Medi-Cal delivery system, and Medi-Cal managed care plans, (c) recent trends and changes in Medicare under the Trump Administration, and (d) fundamentals of conditions of participation and payments, including basics of fraud and abuse laws (such as Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law and California’s Self-Referral laws).
