This program will provide an overview of immigration consequences of criminal arrests and convictions including eligibility for relief, cancellation of visas, and inadmissibility. Topics will include: federal enforcement priorities, risks associated with gang allegations, DUI charges, domestic violence and methamphetamine convictions, how to avoid mandatory ICE detention, the impact of SB 54: California Values Act and the effective use of PC Section 18.5, Prop 47, PC Section 1473.7, PC Section 17(b)(3), PC Section 1000, amended by AB 208 and Prop 64 to avoid immigration consequences.
