Keeping Your Zoom Meetings Safe: Best Practices for Preserving Confidentiality and Preventing Data Breaches In On-line Meeting Places
The past few months have seen a dramatic increase in the use of Zoom and other on-line meeting sites in the legal industry. This increase is expected to continue to with the increase of court hearings, law schools, mediations and depositions moving online. While a great way to continue to provide legal services, Zoom and other online meeting sites are not without risks. The increased use of these sites has resulted in an increase in “Zoombombing” and provides cybercriminals new ways to access your client’s confidential information. The program will discuss the ethical issues in using Zoom and other online meeting sites, the rise of data security issues with Zoom and similar sites, best practices for maintaining confidentiality and data security in online meetings, and what to do in the event of a data security breach or “Zoombombing”.
