Elder Abuse Prevention
As the Founder/Director of the Elder Abuse Forensic Center for 16 years, Gerontologist, Dr. Kerry Burnight, grappled with the devastating aftermath of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Once abuse has occurred, it is often impossible to mitigate the emotion, physical, and financial consequences. Dr. Burnight will share cutting edge research on the most significant risk factors; warning signs; and approaches to preventing elder abuse BEFORE it occurs.
