What Commercial Neutrals Need to Know: Recent Decisions and Legislation in 2018 Affecting Arbitration and Mediation Practice
 
Topics to be discussed include: What’s new with the Supremes? Cases decided by the United States and California Supreme Courts in 2018 and cases on the horizon for 2019; legislative developments at both the federal and state level seeking to ban and make illegal mandatory arbitration clauses included in employment contracts; legislative developments regarding mediation confidentiality – a look at new Evidence Code Section 1129 and what it means for practitioners, clients, and mediators; cases of interest decided by or awaiting decision before the Ninth Circuit in 2018, and cases of interest decided by the California Courts of Appeal.
