The Unique Value of the Collaborative Lawyer

This program is designed to educate members of the bar on the professional role of the lawyer in a collaborative law process. Although presented in a Family Law context, the principles can be generalized to apply to Civil, Probate, Trusts, and other areas of law. The presentation includes practical shifts in presentation to the client, from the first contact by the client to the lawyer's office, with heavy emphasis on duties of professional responsibility to the client, ethical practices, review of the new State Bar Rules governing professional responsibility, in comparison with prior rules, and recent developments in rules governing mediation confidentiality. The focus is a client-centered approach to consensual dispute resolution processes as emphasized by recent State Bar Rules and to ensure informed client decisions throughout the process. Practical skills and handouts will be provided for immediately implementation by the member to his/her practice.

Cancellations must be received via fax or email three (3) business days prior to meeting date to receive a refund.
