Dear Members and Friends of the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County,

Fall is officially here and we closed our summer calendar of events by honoring Judge John C. Gastelum as our Judge of the Year. It was a great sold out event where Judges, attorneys and legal professionals joined us in celebrating Honorable Judge Gastelum’s judicial tenor and admirable contributions to our legal community.  

In keeping with our mission to promote education, unity, and excellence in the Hispanic legal community we are proud to offer our annual Wally Davis Scholarship and Bar Stipend. The Wally Davis Scholarship is available for 1L or 2L law students, and the Bar Stipend is available for 3L registrants of the February 2023 California Bar Exam. Applications and deadlines as follows:

Wally Davis Scholarship:    October 28, 2022

                                    Bar Stipend:     October 21, 2022

As we open our scholarship for our next recipients, we thank you as we are able to provide these scholarships thanks to your donations, sponsorships and attendance at our events.  Please mark your calendars for our 45^th Annual Gala on March 4, 2023 at the Irvine Marriot. Our Annual Gala is our biggest fundraising event for our scholarships and stipend. Please consider sponsoring and supporting our efforts to continue to promote education, unity, and excellence in the Hispanic legal community.

In keeping with our mission, we are looking for mentors! Orange County law students need your guidance and mentoring, please join our 2022 mentorship program and make a difference for our future generations of legal professionals. Having a mentor provides tools, confidence and knowledge for a mentee to succeed in law school and overcome obstacles. We need you, sign up today! Mentors and volunteers help shape the future of our community. CASA is looking for male volunteers for their children. CASA is an organization whose mission is to help children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment. The Men of CASA Affinity Group are hosting a mixer on Wednesday, October 5th from 6-8pm to raise awareness of the need for more male advocates. To attend, please RSVP by filling out this form.
