Dear Members and Friends of the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County,

It was such a privilege to be able to honor Judge Julie A. Palafox at this year’s Judge’s BBQ. It was a lovely day filled with sunshine, good food, great company and all of us coming together to celebrate an amazing person.

Thank you to all who joined us to celebrate Judge Palafox and recognize not only her temperament as an Orange County Judge but her dedication to encouraging others to get involved and help those in need of representation and access to justice.
A very special thank you to our HBA member, Attorney Christopher Hernandez! Thank you for opening your beautiful home for all of us to enjoy this delightful outdoor event.
This year’s Judge’s BBQ was not our only September event. As you all know we joined forces with other organizations in hosting a complimentary Webinar on Intersectionality: Personal Stories on Navigating Implicit Bias & Solutions. Our distinguished panelists, Hon. Elizabeth G. Macias, Hon. Karen L. Robinson and Hon. Tam Nomoto Schumann (RET) provided invaluable information and advice making this event a great success. Thank you to our panelist for your time, experience and expertise!
Thank you to all of our members for your support in attending our events, networking, sponsoring, and simply for being a part of the HBA. Achieving our mission of promoting education, unity and excellence in the Hispanic legal community would not be possible without you. A warm welcome to our newest and returning members, it is great to have you!
As our mission states, we promote education and thus our Wally Davis Scholarship Fund application is now open. The application submission deadline is October 29, 2021. Please help us share this information so we may reach all law students in need of this scholarship.
As we have all had a challenging last and current year and we strive to promote education, we want to provide a bit of extra help for our law students this year by offering a 2022 Bar Stipend. Deadline for applications is October 22, 2021.
We remind our members to please stay vigilant regarding health precautions as they relate to COVID-19. We can beat this pandemic, but we must do so together. If you have any questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations please visit OC Health Care Agency.
Warmest regards,
