Robert von Esch Jr., Former OCBA Board Member, Scoville Honoree Passes


Former OCBA Board member and Harmon G. Scoville Award recipient Robert A. von Esch, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.

A veteran of World War II, von Esch served on the OCBA Board of Directors, the Client Relations Committee, the Mandatory Fee Arbitration Committee, the OCBA Speakers' Bureau, and as a mentor for the Mentoring Program. He was also a member of numerous OCBA sections, as well as the OCBA Masters Division.

Richard W. Millar, Jr., profiled von Esch in an article entitled "Robert von Esch, Jr.: Still in the Trenches," which ran in the October 2006 issue of Orange County Lawyer. A subsequent profile entitled "Robert A. von Esch, Jr.: 2009 Harmon G. Scoville Award Honoree" by Joseph L. Chairez was published in the May 2009 issue.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea. Following the service, a celebration lunch will be held at Angelo & Vinci's in Fullerton.
