Created in 1977, the Loren Miller Award is considered a lifetime achievement award bestowed upon a California attorney or legal services organization staff member who has demonstrated a long-term commitment to legal services. Meanwhile, up to nine President's Awards may be given for the provision of outstanding pro bono legal services in 2011 for California attorneys, attorney teams, offices or firms, corporate or government legal departments, associations of California lawyers, ABA or State Bar accredited law schools, and eligible law students enrolled at ABA or State Bar accredited law schools.
All nominations must be submitted electronically and received by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012. The awards will be presented in October 2012 at a reception during the State Bar Annual Meeting in Monterey.
