The Superior Court in Orange County Announces
A New Electronic Filing System The Superior Court of California, County of Orange, will offer a new Electronic Filing system (eFiling) and Electronic Service (eService) for civil cases that is easy to use and uploads documents directly to the court’s case management system.
The Court recently contracted with One Legal, LLC of Novato, California to build the new filing system that will be available beginning in May 2010. The new system will support eFiling in complex and unlimited civil cases (actions filed for more than $25,000.) Litigants interested in using the new system will need to establish an account with One Legal, in order to initiate eFilings and eService.
Superior Court Chief Executive Officer Alan Carlson said, “Making the change from paper filing to eFiling will increase efficiency and reduce cost for litigants and the Court. Users of the eFiling system will be able to conveniently file case documents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Costs also will be reduced because eFiling and eService eliminates the need for physically transporting documents to court, manual data entry by court staff, scanning of documents, and the need to store paper documents.”
