OCBA Statement on the Rise in Anti-Asian Hate Incidents

Statement by Orange County Bar Association President Larisa Dinsmoor on recent acts of hate and violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities:

The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) strongly condemns all acts of hate, bias and xenophobia directed at the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Orange County is home to the third largest Asian American population in the United States. Many of our Asian American and Pacific Islander family members, colleagues and friends have experienced discrimination and violence. This is unacceptable. We call upon the Orange County community to condemn acts of violence and reject misinformation and hate-filled rhetoric directed at the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. We will support the efforts of our members, affiliates and other legal organizations to achieve solutions for addressing Anti-Asian bias, discrimination and xenophobia. Let us all come together in connection, community and unity to defeat hate, bigotry and discrimination in all forms.
