One of the online questions that we didn’t get to yesterday asked why L.A. Courts are doing live hearings in family law.
In today’s DJ (8/6/20), on page 3, at the bottom “LA court expands remote appearances”, paragraph 4:
“The court also announced that LACourtConnect will expand for scheduling remote appearances for family law cases,
specifically for matters on calendar from Aug. 17 to 30 days thereafter….”
Paragraph 8:
“…’We are the biggest ship, so we don’t turn easily’, Brazile said in a recent Zoom conference discussing the expansion of remote appearances…”
Paragraph 9:
“The court strongly recommends attorneys use Webex, LACourtConnect, and other remote technology when available to make appearances or conduct other court business, Brazile said.”
