TMBA is committed to supporting individuals who take the State Bar Exam in hopes of practicing law in California. We recognize, particularly for individuals who are faced with sitting for the bar exam, it is both an emotionally and financially challenging process. We applaud your commitment and perseverance in achieving your goal of becoming a member of the legal profession. In recognition and in support of your efforts, TMBA will award selected applicants with a bar scholarship in the amount of $2,000.00 to assist with the costs associated with preparing for and taking the bar exam. Our goal is to relieve some of the financial burden through our scholarship program which will in turn, help you focus all your efforts on passing the bar exam.

Application Instructions: Essays must be typed in 12-point typeface. Email the application and all required documents no later than 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on May 30, 2020 to TMBAScholarship@gmail.com, for consideration. Please entitle the subject line “TMBA Bar Taker Scholarship – YOUR NAME.” Due to the volume of entries, TMBA may not acknowledge receipt of applications.

Selection Criteria: TMBA will award such scholarships on the basis of minority race status, financial need, community involvement, commitment to expand diversity and inclusion within the legal profession, and ties to Orange County. Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 12, 2020. Applicants who are repeat bar takers are strongly encouraged to apply.
