UCI School of Law will be hosting our 2nd Annual Speed Mentoring event on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the UCI Newkirk Alumni Center, and we need YOU! Please consider joining your UCI Law community by participating as a mentor and register today!
As a mentor, you have experiences and insight that are invaluable to students attending law school. Serving as a mentor is rewarding and of immense value to our students. Speed Mentoring is an opportunity for our community partners and students to meet and discuss a wealth of topics related to joining the profession. Since speed mentoring resembles speed dating, students will go from mentor to mentor and offer a topic for discussion. After a timed period, a bell sounds, mentees have one minute to record notes and then talk with the next mentor. These structured and informal interactions focus on crucial career issues, and allow both mentors and students to decide who may best fit them as a mentor or mentee.
Please follow the below instructions to register and update your information for this year by Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Space is limited.
If you do not have time to be a speed mentor this year or prefer less structured interaction, please consider joining our Resource List. The Resource List includes the names and contact information of mentors who have indicated that they are open to hearing from students and alumni directly for the purposes of informational interviews, relationship building, and one-time mentoring.
Should you have any questions, please direct them to mentor@law.uci.edu and a member of the Speed Mentoring Planning Committee will respond to you. We understand you have a very busy schedule and we thank you for considering the UCI Law Mentor Program!
